Senior Evaluations
Have you, an adult child, or a friend observed that you are experiencing more and more “senior moments”, or have you been diagnosed with having memory loss or the onset of Alzheimer’s disease? Or maybe you or someone close to you feels that your physical capabilities are weakening, your cognitive skills are not as sharp, your reaction time is slowing, or your driving techniques are not as good as they should be. Have you considered having an objective driving evaluation done to make sure that you are a safe and efficient driver?

At Nathan’s Driving School, we are very experienced in conducting objective driver evaluations. Our patient and understanding instructors are trained to observe your physical skills, decision-making skills, and social skills to determine whether or not you operate a motor vehicle safely during the evaluation time. In many cases, only minor adjustments in driving habits are suggested, but in some cases, a couple of actual driving lessons may be suggested. In extreme cases, the instructor may have the difficult task of advising you that, in his or her opinion, should not be driving at all because of an inability to operate the motor vehicle safely.
Once our instructor has finished the one hour evaluation, he or she will verbally review his or her observations with you, making suggestions or reaffirming adjustments that should be made in your driving techniques, defensive driving habits, etc. If he or she feels that it would be appropriate for you to take a couple of hours of driving lessons as a refresher, that recommendation would be made. Additionally, if the instructor feels that you are not safe to operate a motor vehicle, he or she would relay that information as well.
Within two days of the evaluation, the instructor will prepare a written report that will be mailed, emailed, or faxed to you and anyone else that you advise us to send it to. This written report will detail the observations of the instructor and will include any suggestions to improve your driving habits, the need for driving lessons to refresh or correct any unsafe habits, or limitations that the instructor feels are appropriate.
The evaluation time in the car is approximately one hour. We come to your home to meet you for the evaluation as long as you are in our service area of Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, or Gwinnett county. If you live outside our service area, we can make arrangements to meet you someplace within our service area.
If you have any questions, are interested in scheduling an appointment, or have been advised by your doctor to undergo a medical evaluation, you can call us at 770.454.9100 or email us at
